This study evaluates the clinical course of patients who underwent non-ventriculoperitoneal shunt procedures at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital and finds that, while both ventriculoatrial and ventriculopleural shunts required revisions, they are acceptable second-line options in patients with limited treatment alternatives, with attention paid to specifics of their placement.
