The study found that a diamond-mesh codend turned by 90 degrees with a 35-mm mesh size (T90_35) showed the best selective properties for catching legal-sized cocktail shrimp in the South China Sea, which could potentially replace the current legal codend in fisheries management to reduce the bycatch of undersized shrimp.
