Scientists have successfully created and characterized a stable trimer of HIV-1 envelope glycoprotein Env from the CRF63_02A6 recombinant form, which is recognized by both monoclonal broadly neutralizing antibodies and sera from HIV-positive patients, and can be used for structural studies and as a candidate vaccine immunogen.
