This abstract describes a study that validated the use of a double-disc synergy test (DDST) to detect synergy between the antibiotics aztreonam and avibactam, and found that the DDST is a sensitive tool for this purpose, although most MBL-positive P. aeruginosa strains remain resistant to the aztreonam-avibactam combination.
