“High Prevalence of Metabolic Syndrome Risk in Southern African American/Black Adolescents, No Link to Behavioral Health or Physical Inactivity”

The study found that 67.3% of African American/Black adolescents in an inner-city high school in the Deep South were at risk for metabolic syndrome, but there was no significant relationship between metabolic syndrome severity score and behavioral health risk, food insecurity, and physical inactivity in this sample.
