“Establishing Causality: Prospective Studies Needed on Early Childhood Caries and Adverse Nutritional Status in Children”

This review article suggests that while there is evidence of associations between early childhood caries (ECC) and adverse nutritional status in children, more robust prospective studies are needed to establish the direction of causality.
