The study found that meningococcal infection in the Transcarpathian region mainly presents atypically, with only half of meningococcemia patients having a classic hemorrhagic rash, and suggests that microscopic examination of blood smear and cerebrospinal fluid are the most effective diagnostic methods, questioning the use of bacteriological methods due to their low effectiveness.
