This study used polygenic risk scores as proxies for COVID-19 severity in three large biobanks to identify associations between pre-existing conditions and COVID-19 severity, revealing significant relationships with obesity, metabolic disorders, and cardiovascular conditions, and highlighting the potential value of using PRS when actual outcome data may be limited.
