The study finds that Furlow’s double-opposing Z-plasty can achieve sufficient correction of velopharyngeal insufficiency with reduced airway complications risk when preoperative computed tomography evaluation shows small width of the nasopharynx, velopharyngeal depth, and Need’s ratio.
