This study describes a new light-induced chemical reaction using Hantzsch ester and Cs(2)CO(3) that generates aryl and alkyl radicals from aryl halides and alkyl iodides, enabling the creation of various benzo-fused heterocycles and C(sp3)-C(sp3) coupling products, as well as reductive detosylation.
