The incidence of post-sternotomy pain syndrome (PSPS) after open cardiac surgery in 2021 at the National Heart Institute, Malaysia was 20.35%, with age, history of previous percutaneous coronary intervention, ejection fraction, and absence of chronic kidney disease being independent factors associated with PSPS.
