This study suggests that, while an alfaxalone-based sedation protocol maintains hemodynamic stability during sedation in cats with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, both dexmedetomidine and alfaxalone-based protocols can lead to significant hemodynamic compromise during isoflurane anesthesia, necessitating further research to optimize anesthetic protocols for these cats.
