This study found that responder patients with advanced cervical cancer had increased tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes and functional polarization of CD4 T cells, while non-responder patients exhibited elevated PD-1 scores, CD8+ and PD-L2+ TILs, and PD-L1 immune reactivity, along with higher systemic soluble mediators, suggesting that dysfunctional TILs and imbalanced immune mediators contribute to therapeutic insufficiency and can inform immunological signatures for treatment prediction and prognosis.
