“Reduced Risk of Gastrointestinal Bleeding in Older Atrial Fibrillation Patients on Oral Anticoagulation and PPIs”

This study suggests that in older patients with atrial fibrillation, initiating oral anticoagulation while using proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) is associated with a reduced risk of upper gastrointestinal bleeding, particularly within the first 6 months of antivitamin K antagonist therapy.
