“Birthweights Above Average in First Nations Infants and Children in Canada, with Links to Caregiver BMI and Gestational Diabetes”

This study on First Nations infants and children in Canada found that birthweights were above average and increased with age, and there was a positive association between caregiver’s BMI and child’s BMI, as well as an increased odds of rapid weight gain with exposure to gestational diabetes.
