This study derives and examines the equations governing the existence of surface acoustic waves (SAWs) as bound states in the continuum (BIC-SAWs) within the continuous spectrum of bulk Bloch waves in piezoelectric one-dimensional phononic crystals, and establishes conditions for their existence based on frequency and other parameters, taking into account crystallographic symmetry.
