The use of prophylactic negative pressure wound therapy in high-risk patients undergoing oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery results in low rates of wound-related complications, associated cost benefits, and lower infection rates compared to previous studies, but a prospective randomized control trial is needed to confirm these findings.
