“University Students’ Fear of Failure Increases as Exam Approaches: A Study on Expectancy, Value Beliefs, and Motivation”

This study found that while university students study more and use surface learning strategies as an exam approaches, their exam-specific expectancy and value beliefs decline and performance-avoidance motivation increases, indicating a growing fear of failure.
