An outbreak of scurvy occurred in Hawassa Central Prison, Southern Ethiopia, in 2023, due to a lack of adequate vitamin C in prisoners’ diets, resulting in leg swelling and pain, and highlighting the need for increased clinical suspicion and awareness of this preventable disease.
