This study suggests that the skin-lightening compounds niacinamide, tranexamic acid, and sucrose laurate/dilaurate mixture may reduce hyperpigmentation by suppressing the release of interleukin-6 and endothelin-1 from epidermal keratinocytes and/or inhibiting melanocyte dendricity.
