This meta-analysis of active surveillance studies suggests that the incidence of transfusion-related acute lung injury (TRALI) is 0.17/10,000 for red blood cells, 0.31/10,000 for platelets, and 3.19/10,000 for plasma transfusions, which is higher than estimates from passive surveillance studies.
