Obesity, particularly obesity class III, is associated with a higher risk of complications in myocutaneous free flap transfer surgery, and inner thigh adipose thickness can be used to estimate the area along the skin within which the gracilis perforator may be found, helping to identify high-risk patients who may benefit from additional postoperative monitoring.
