In patients taking anticoagulants with acute nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding, early endoscopy (within 24 hours) is associated with higher rates of endoscopic treatment, shorter hospital stays, and increased intermediate/intensive care unit admission, but does not affect the need for surgical intervention, recurrent bleeding, or 30-day mortality.
