The SARS-CoV-2 virus in Thailand from 2020-2022 showed limited cross-border transmission during the first four waves, but was common in 2022, with extensive nationwide transmission during later waves, and frequent epidemiological connections with neighboring countries despite travel controls, according to a spatiotemporal analysis of 27,913 Thai and 7,330 global SARS-CoV-2 genomes.
