This study used latent class analysis to identify four subgroups of adolescents who engage in nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI) and differ in suicidality levels, and found that adolescents in the “High NSSI-High suicidality” class have the poorest outcomes in terms of internalizing and externalizing problems, social support and self-esteem.
