The SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex, often mutated in cancer, is a global regulator of gene expression and its loss of function mutations can cause widespread epigenetic dysfunction and dependence on antagonistic components, suggesting a tumor suppressor role and potential targets for therapy in SWI/SNF-mutant cancers.
