This abstract describes a review of methods for treating and safely reusing wastewater from petroleum production, including membrane technologies, biological processes, electro-chemical coagulation, physical/chemical treatment, and catalytic oxidation, with the aim of reducing its harmful environmental impact and providing an additional water resource.
