“Dexmedetomidine and Propofol Sedation after Head and Neck Cancer Surgeries: A Randomized Prospective Study”

This randomized prospective study found that while dexmedetomidine and propofol had comparable fentanyl requirements in patients after head and neck cancer surgeries needing mechanical ventilation, dexmedetomidine was associated with a higher incidence of bradycardia and hypotension, suggesting propofol as the preferred sedative in this context.
