The study finds that testicular regression and recrudescence in the bat Eptesicus furinalis are controlled by pituitary, androgen, and estrogen hormones, with the process of regression activated by inhibition of AR expression in Sertoli cells, and recrudescence reactivated by increased expression of LHR in Leydig cells and AR and FSHR in Sertoli cells.
