The abstract reports on a study that found higher levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) during the acute phase of acute encephalopathy with biphasic seizures and late reduced diffusion (AESD) are associated with an increased risk of developing post-encephalopathic epilepsy (PEE) in patients with AESD.
