The study identifies a new type of T7SS substrate, TslA, with a reverse domain arrangement and shows that it is widely found across Bacillota, including Staphylococcus, Enterococcus, and Listeria, and has a phospholipase A activity that is neutralized by the immunity lipoprotein TilA.
