The study found that hearing screening techniques used in a universal newborn hearing screening program in Beijing were effective in identifying children with congenital hearing loss, and risk factors such as craniofacial anomalies, length of stay in the neonatal intensive care unit, and low birth weight were associated with the presence of hearing loss.
