This study examines the embodied carbon emissions and responsibility sharing in the Yellow River Basin, China using a MRIO model, finding that provinces like Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, and Shandong have significant differences between production-side and consumption-side carbon emissions, with most provinces being net carbon transfer-in regions, and highlighting the need for the Yellow River Basin to take more responsibility for emission reduction.
