This study assessed the feasibility of using noninvasive biospecimens, such as buccal swabs, hair follicles, saliva, and urine cell pellets, for transcriptome studies and found hair follicles and urine cell pellets to be most promising, exhibiting consistent sample quality, diverse cell types, and robust performance in disease-relevant applications.
