“Hormonal Contraceptive Use Linked to Higher Cholesterol Levels in Women”

This study found that women who use hormonal contraceptives, particularly depot medroxyprogesterone acetate (DMPA) and progestin-only pills (POP), had significantly higher levels of total cholesterol, triglycerides, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c) compared to non-users, and these levels increased with the duration of use.
