Metabolic syndrome is prevalent among hypertensive patients in Abuja, Nigeria, with reduced HDL-C being the most common component, and is associated with factors such as elevated BMI, truncal obesity, elevated total cholesterol, and the use of thiazide diuretics and beta blockers as antihypertensives.
