In this study, the authors explore the impact of restarts on the escape behavior of a lamb from a lion using a Bernoulli trial, finding that the success probability decreases with the restart rate while the mean time exhibits a non-monotonic dependence, and showing that the optimal restart rate and the distribution of first passage times under sharp resetting display distinct transitions and periodic behavior.
