This biomechanical study found that using screws in the tension band wiring method for fixing transverse olecranon fractures on bone models provides higher stability than K-wires, and double-screw fixation gives similar results in terms of biomechanical load to failure compared to a large intramedullary screw fixation, both of which can be used as stable constructs in clinical practice.
