“Exploring Accommodation Requests and Initiatives among Workers with Serious Mental Illness: A Study of Health and Job-Related Factors”

This study of workers with serious mental illness found that while only a quarter requested accommodations from their employer, over 80% self-initiated accommodations, often involving scheduling flexibility or workspace modifications, and that certain health and job-related factors were associated with the probability of requesting or self-initiating accommodations.
