This study utilizes a new micro-biopsy-based mass spectrometric platform to reveal characteristically different cis-diol metabolic signatures in Xenopus laevis embryos, discovering halogenated cis-diols accumulation in the posterior part of tailbud-stage embryos and highlighting the potential environmental risk of exogenous fungicide dimethachlon bio-transformation and accumulation in vertebrate animals.
