The study found that while transnasal humidified rapid-insufflation ventilator exchange (THRIVE) resulted in higher carbon dioxide accumulation compared to laryngeal mask airway (LMA) during endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy (ETS), THRIVE exhibited greater oxygenation capability, suggesting its potential as a feasible non-intubated ventilation technique for ETS under PaCO2 monitoring.
