Scientists have developed a new sacrificial cathode prelithiation technology using a lattice engineered Li₂CO₃-based composite to improve the energy density of lithium-ion battery full-cells, achieving 235 Wh kg−1 in pouch-type full-cells with 88% capacity retention after 1000 cycles.
