This study uses a new polarization scheme in 2D IR spectroscopy to resolve 22 new cross peaks in amyloid fibrils formed by human islet amyloid polypeptide, revealing a second fibril polymorph formed via secondary nucleation, and demonstrating that this method can enhance structural resolution in studying amyloid fibril polymorphs.
