This study found that while most families of patients with terminal cancer who did not receive continuous electrocardiographic monitoring in the 24 hours before death were satisfied with their care, a higher proportion of them were dissatisfied compared to families whose loved ones received monitoring, suggesting that providing sufficient explanations about not using monitoring may be important for satisfactory care.
