The study found that genetically predicted elevated systolic blood pressure (SBP) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) increase the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) independent of age, and early to middle life exposure to elevated SBP and LDL-C is associated with increased CHD risk independent of later-life levels.
